Description
English: Sullivan, Ill., native, Capt. Brad Sinkler, and 1st Sgt. Aangi Mueller from Fillmore, Ill., display their unit's Welcome Home plaque and Yellow Banner upon its return from a deployment to Iraq during a ceremony held at Army Support Activity-Dix's B Company May 18. Their unit, the 196th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, whose motto is "Zombie Assassins," is an Illinois Army National Guard unit from Springfield, Ill. It mobilized out of Dix last July and produced "Balad and Beyond," a bi-weekly video newscast, and "Expeditionary Times," a weekly newspaper while deployed. The Yellow Banner is given to units who mobilize through ASA-Dix as a symbolic gesture that they are in the thoughts and well-wishes of the ASA-Dix community. The banner is hung in Infantry Park while the unit is deployed and given back to the organization upon its return from combat.
