Description
English: NORTHERN PACIFIC OCEAN - Seaman Mitchell Gough wraps marlin line to secure rubber matting around a ruptured water pipe prop, forming a soft patch, during a flooding drill aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf, Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009. At sea, there is no one to call in an emergency. Sailors must be experts in damage control. Following the drill, the soft patch was tested by connecting a charged fire hose to the end of it and it held the pressure. (Coast Guard photo/Petty Officer 2nd Class Jetta H. Disco)
