[edit]DescriptionSocializmul va învinge (Cristescu and Popovici with Bulgarian officer, 1917).png |
English: Romanian socialist activists in early 1917, during the occupation of Bucharest by the Central Powers. The photograph was reportedly taken at Herescu Năsturel Street, 9, where the socialist club was hosting a Bulgarian officer in uniform, who represented Georgi Kirkov's Narrow Socialists; Gheorghe Cristescu and Constantin Popovici seated on either side of the officer. The attached slogan reads: Socializmul va învinge, 1917 (Romanian for: "Socialism Will Prevail, 1917"). For details see: Ion Toacă, Teodor Pintean, "Pe aceeași baricadă", in Magazin Istoric, October 1973, p. 82. |
