Úhošť ( Burgberg in German ) was a settlement on the summit plateau of the Úhošť basalt hill about 2.5 kilometers southwest of Kadana . The cadastral territory of the defunct settlement has an area of 188.5 ha. The first written mention of the village dates from 1401, when it was bought by Haiman Ordof, a burgher from Kadaň. When he died, his property was inherited by his widow Eliška, who married Jan Žehrovský from Kolovrat for the second time. In 1445, its inheritance consisting of Úhoště, Dolany and Úhošťany was taken over by Mikuláš Žehrovský from Kolovrat. Immediately, a dispute broke out over them with Kadaní, who won it, and the property went to Haiman Ordof's relatives. Who the village belonged to in the following years is not clear. According to Jaroslav Schaller , in an unspecified part of the second half of the fifteenth century, it was an accessory of Egerberk Castle . Úhošť also appears in the decision on the Bieblohora confiscation of the property of Matyáš the YoungerStampach from Stampach . Kryštof Šimon Thun bought the seized property in 1623 and added it to the monastic estate, with which Úhošť remained until the abolition of serfdom . [3] According to the collection rule from 1654 , three peasants and three cottagers (i.e. 30-40 people) lived in the settlement . The main source of livelihood was the cultivation of grain and cattle breeding. [4] The peasants had seven covers and kept seven cows, nine heifers , one sheep and five goats. The poorer cottagers owned two coats, six cows, one heifer and three goats. [5] In the second half of the nineteenth century, the village mainly cultivated oats , but also wheat , rye , barley , vetch and potatoes. In 1898, the 92nd Infantry Regiment from Kadana set up a shooting range on the hillside of Úhoště, which allowed a range of up to 450 meters. The children went to school in Úhošťany, the relevant post office and gendarmerie station were in Kadani, but the residents of the village had a doctor in the Town Hall . [6] A large population decline occurred after World War II due to the displacement of Germans . Úhošť then disappeared due to gradual displacement, and the settlement was officially abolished in 1963 . [7]In the places where it stood, there are the remains of walls and foundations of demolished houses. https://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%9Aho%C5%A1%C5%A5_%28Kada%C5%88%29 |
