See full description for condition. These are exceptional 18th century miniatures. The measurements can be seen in the full screen description. The frames have a few spots of wear which I have shown close up photos of .The original backings have been removed from the paintings and will be gently affixed for shipping. These also come with 2 nice miniature bronze easels. The paintings can either be hung on the wall or displayed on a shelf or furniture top on the easels. Antique 1700's miniature paintings Empress Maria Theresa & Gerhard von SwietenDescription A wonderful pair of 18 th century miniature portrait paintings. The paintings have beautiful detail and are exceptionally done. The paintings appear to be of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria and Gerhard van Swieten . Van Sweiten was a taleneted doctor from the Netherlands who was prevented from assuming a full university post because of his Catholic faith. Instead, in 1745, he became the personal physician to Austrian Empress Maria Theresa.
