Description |
English: Presumed portrait of Sophie Charlotte of Brandenburg-Bayreuth (1713-1747), misidentified with her daughter-in-law Duchess Anna Amalia of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel (1739-1807).
According to the old legend on verso of the male portrait, we are dealing with miniature portraits of Duke Ersnt August II of Saxe-Weimar (1737-1758; see Wikipedia) and his wife Anna Amalia, nee Princess of Brunnswyck (1739-1807; see Wikipedia). Presumably, both miniatures were painted in the late 1750s by the sitters' court artist." |
