Description
English: Snuff the Wind. Cross Vein Mine, popularly known as "Snuff the Wind": a lead mine worked between 1832 and 1881. The two shafts - about 240 feet apart - were known as the Engine Shaft and the Whim Shaft. A Whim was a horse gin.
