Summary

[edit]
Description

The remnants of Cyclone Hudhud passed northwest from India into Nepal on October 13 and 14, 2014. The resulting severe blizzard trapped hikers and their guides on the popular Annapurna Circuit around the mountain. The two larger images show the difference in snowpack between October 10 and October 15, 2014. The inset shows the daily progress of Cyclone Hudhud through the regions.

NOAA View enabled the capturing of the images using data from the Suomi NPP satellite's VIIRS instrument.
