Description
English: Forest fire in Wyoming, USA. (12 August 2016)

This is a smoke plume from a natural forest fire in Yellowstone, Wyoming. It was started by lightning on 8 August 2016. It was extinguished in late September 2016. The evergreen forest being burned is dominated by lodgepole pines (Pinus contorta).

Locality: northwestern Yellowstone Park, northwestern Wyoming, USA (view from Fountain overlook platform in the Lower Geyser Basin)
