Photo shows the Smith Bridge Company located west of Oakdale Ave. in Toledo, Ohio. This photo was taken around 1880. Robert W. Smith, the inventor of the Smith Truss Bridge, came to Toledo in 1867 and formed the Smith Bridge Company. By 1869 the company had built seventy-five bridges.
