[edit]DescriptionSmall pawpaw and maize farms showing Dabala farmers how to use simple irrigation system to reduce rain fed farming.jpg |
English: Because of the vagaries of the weather the farmers at Dabala in South Tongu , Volta Region of Ghana have been experiencing crop failures every now and then. These small pawpaw(papaya) and maize farms are demonstrating to the small scale farmers in the town how to reduce over reliance on rainfall for their farming activities. This project is done by the use of simple irrigation technique; stand pipe and a water hose called " water for you " ,one can easily water crops. Seriously, this technique helps me to be ahead of the erratic rainy seasons we have been experiencing currently in Dabala and its environs.
