DescriptionSmall-seated-statue-of-Hatshepsut2.jpg | Small seated statue of Hatshepsut, Eighteenth dynasty of Egypt, c. 1503-1482 B.C., found at Deir el-Bahri, Thebes. Black en:granite sculpture at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City. The small figure, which bears the royal nemes headdress and shendyt worn by male Egyptian kings, was likely placed in a niche in Hatshepsut's funerary temple. It was possibly one of a pair of statues, as fragments of a similar statue have been found. |
