Description

Dominée par les remparts de son ancien château, Piran est une très jolie cité posée sur une presqu’île escarpée.

Tout converge vers la piazza Tartini, circulaire et ouverte sur le port, ornée en son centre de la statue du violoniste Giuseppe Tartini.

Elle est bordée de demeures anciennes, dont l’une, frappée du lion de Saint-Marc, abrite l’hôtel de ville.

Sur les hauteurs, le Duomo (église Saintt-Georges) présente un clocher vénitien et un baptistère en rotonde.
