Summary
[edit]DescriptionSloop Beatrix-4.jpg |
English: Charles A. Prince and Dr. John Bryant's racing sloop Beatrix, later rechristened Harpoon. She was yacht designer Edward Burgess's natural evolution of the compromise sloop, the only centerboarder of new 1891 46-footers and the only real contender to the class champion Gloriana. She is pictured here racing on July 22nd, 1891 in the Eastern Yacht Club race, which she won in her class, in the absence of the Gloriana.
