Title
Taken from a set of illustrations from the designs of Leon Bakst for The Sleeping Princess which were originally published by Ben Brothers in 1923, this illustration is labelled 'Planche XXIII: 'La Reine et ses Pages'. It shows the Queen in an elaborate gown with a blue over skirt and long train, trimmed with ermine which is being carried by two pages dressed in short blue breeches, white and gold jackets. They are also wearing white and gold pointed slippers and their white turbans are embroidered in gold and decorated with a single gold feather. The Queen's dress has a white underskirt embroidered at the hem, and with large green and gold motifs at the centre front. She wears a fitted bodice with an upstanding collar white and gold collar, the sleeves of which are very elaborate, and gathered into to 'puffs'. She is also wearing a high gold crown decorated with three sprays of huge white feathers which extend down below her shoulders. Harry Beard Collection.1921

[edit]
This is a faithful photographic reproduction of a two-dimensional, public domain work of art. The work of art itself is in the public domain for the following reason:
Public domain

The author died in 1924, so this work is in the public domain in its country of origin and other countries and areas where the copyright term is the author's life plus 95 years or fewer.

You must also include a United States public domain tag to indicate why this work is in the public domain in the United States. Note that Mexico has a term of 100 years and does not implement the rule of the shorter term, so this image may not be in the public domain in Mexico.
The official position taken by the Wikimedia Foundation is that "faithful reproductions of two-dimensional public domain works of art are public domain".
This photographic reproduction is therefore also considered to be in the public domain in the United States. In other jurisdictions, re-use of this content may be restricted; see Reuse of PD-Art photographs for details.
