Description

Monument to Anne Bankes, sister of Thomas Truman Esquire, late of St Martin's, Stamford, who was seized with apoplexy at High Road, Knightsbridge; and expired suddenly on Tuesday morning 11 February 1834 in the 73rd year of her age. Her remains were interred in the chancel. The monument was erected by Robert Banks, her husband.

"Here hapless sufferer rest in peace, Secure from misery and noise, For here thy earthly sorrows cease, From hence commence thy heavenly joys."

The sculptor is R. Westmacott.
