Description
English: Dramatic view down into the slate quarries at Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary. This photo was ordered for a Mr Evans, but we didn't know if he was the owner/one of the owners, or a manager. As always, we said that any information, thoughts (even wild conjecture) were welcome!


Thanks very much to Niall McAuley for unearthing the only Evans in the 1911 Census - Mr Daniel Evans, <a href="http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai002625843/" rel="nofollow">Slate Quarry Manager</a>...
