Summary

[edit]
Description Keyway fit issues were identified related to precast tolerances (more of an issue with the 27-foot panels) and control of fine grading of the sub-base were problems. Lack of attention to precast tolerances can result in elevation differences at joints that required additional attention during the FHWA, Highways for LIFE project with Virginia DOT to demonstrate the use of precast concrete pavement system (PCPS) technology to replace concrete slabs on a section of I-66 during nighttime.
