| Description |
English: Skiers arriving on Cairngorm A ski tour up from Coire na Ciste, in early season so no lifts were open yet. This made the slopes pretty quiet, but despite being midweek, I didn't have the summit to myself as a group of nordic skiers arrived shortly after me. Limited daylight meant that none of us seemed to be venturing very far onto the plateau despite the fine sunny conditions. Normally, starting at the weather station (where this photo was taken), it needs good navigation skills to reach the other cairn, as it lies well beyond the limit of visibility, and footprints are often filled with spindrift in a few seconds. |
