Description
English: Sizzler & Penniless Gate. The medieval tower in the background is the Penniless Gate in Wells built by Bishop Beckington (Not the Baby Eating Bishop of Bath and Wells!) in 1450 to give shelter for beggars, the cacophony creating contraption in the foreground was part of Wells May fair.
