Summary
[edit]DescriptionSix color matrix - 100 % less random.gif |
English: This is a series of (six primary and secondary color matrix images) based on the random positions of adjacent colors not being adjacent to each other by an increasing 20%, beginning at totally random, up to a final 100%. The computer program to make these images was developed using Basic programing language at the Berkeley Lawrence Hall of Science in the 1970s.
This project grew out of an interest in pointillism and how to represent it in various artistic media. That ultimately culminated in the use of computer generation and graphics. My initial interest was to use a simple color palette to explore color interactions and how they might lead to more interesting patterns. Randomness, and limiting it, has been integral to this process. My interest is also to expand the use of other colors and black and white as well. Many other series have also been explored and some may ultimately be produced in other media such as paintings or photographs. photomaki@prodigy.net |
