Description
English: The site of the Kosuge zeniza. Established in August 1859 under the Tokugawa shogunate, this mint was roughly 15,000 square metres wide and manufactured iron Kan’ei Tsūhō coins. In December 1860, it started minting debased 4-mon coins and was closed in 1867. Its site is located in Kosuge, Katsushika City, Tokyo, commemorated by a monument adjacent to Nishi-Kosuge Elementary School.
