English: Site of Tote Copse Castle. The fenced of trees mark the site of a former 12th century keep. The motte which also existed as now been levelled out. Believed to have been built by the Bishop of Chichester during the reign of King Stephen. The mound is marked on the 1940s map but not on the modern one. It is near to the junction of the footpath that heads south then west towards the railway line and Oving Road. |
