Summary
[edit]DescriptionSite of Somersham Station (geograph 2367570).jpg |
English: Site of Somersham Station Looking north-east towards Chatteris on the former Great Eastern Railway route from St Ives to March. The private house to the right occupies the site of former station buildings but the original buildings have been moved to Fawley in Oxfordshire. The new level crossing gates now mark the entrance to Somersham's local nature reserve and the start of a path along the trackbed as far as Chatteris. The old railway line is a habitat for grass snakes and common lizards. Plants include red bartsia, St John's wort, toadflax and purple loosestrife. |
