Summary
[edit]DescriptionSite of Monmouth Troy station and goods yard (geograph 4882210).jpg |
English: Site of Monmouth Troy station and goods yard The running lines continued straight ahead between the platforms (which are still there) and through a short tunnel (likewise, but now bricked up) on the way to Pontypool Road. The goods yard was to the right of the shot where the small housing estate is now. Monmouth Troy station building was dismantled piece by piece and reerected at Winchcombe on the preserved Gloucester & Warwickshire railway: see Dr Neil Clifton's SP0229 : Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway: Winchcombe station, even though he incorrectly locates the original site as Ross on Wye! |
