Summary
[edit]DescriptionSite of Ilott Wharf - geograph.org.uk - 1753872.jpg |
English: Site of Ilott Wharf This was a wharf on the Ashby Canal where a tramroad came down from Measham Main Colliery. The original line of the canal sweeps round to the left, but the restoration project will resite the canal straight on after which it will curve round to join the line of the former railway through Measham as the old alignment is no longer suitable for restoration.
There is supposedly a right of way along the old line of the canal but there was no formal access to this section, and it was further blocked with fences. |
