| Description |
English: Site of Cranny Mill, Omagh. Pictured along the Ballynamullan Burn. It was constructed here in the mid 1850's by William Scott. The mill closed in 1947, due to the cost of repairs that would have to be done and the business re-located to Excelsior Mills on the Mountjoy Road in Omagh. In 1948 the lands were sold to Omagh Mental Hospital and the buildings were demolished about the mid 1950's. There is an picture of Cranny Mills taken in 1947 in "The Stones that Ground the Corn", a copy of which can be viewed in the local library. |
