Summary
[edit]DescriptionSite of Belgrave & Birstall station (geograph 3280082).jpg |
English: Site of Belgrave & Birstall station Part of the site of Belgrave & Birstall station, on the Great Central Railway's London extension on the northern outskirts of Leicester, is now used by the heritage railway called the Great Central Railway for its southern terminus, Leicester North. The bricked up former entrance to Belgrave & Birstall can be seen on the road bridge to the north of the present station; it led to an island platform, hence the two bridge portals. While much of the present GCR is double track, the section into Leicester North is single, using the former down side. |
