Description
English: Sitar, Origin: 500 years ago, Region: North India, Material: Burmese Teak, Metal, Bottle guord. The name 'cethar' in Persian means three strings. The instrument is believed to have been derived from veena, which was modified by Mughal court musicians to conform to the tastes of the Door and Rolling Stones used the sitar for their songs. Some famous sitar players are Pandit Ravishankar, Vilayat Khan and Anoushka Shankar.
தமிழ்: சித்தார், நரம்புக் இசைக்கருவி, ஹிந்துஸ்தானி, காலம்: சுமார் 500 ஆண்டுகள், இடம்: வட இந்தியா. மூலப்பொருள்: பர்மாதேக்கு, உலோகம், சுரைக்காய். சேதார் என்ற பெர்சிய மொழிக் கருவியின் பெயர். முன்று தந்திகள் எனப் பொருள் படும்படி வைக்கப்பட்டது. முகலாயர்களின் ஆட்சிக்காலத்தில் வீணையில் இருந்து வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டது. மேற்கத்திய இசையிலும் சில காலம் பிரபலமாக உபயோகிக்கப்பட்டது. பீட்டில்ஸ், தி டோர், ரோல்லிங் ஸ்டோன்ஸ், போன்ற பேண்டுகள் உபயோகித்தன. விலாயத் கான் மற்றும் பண்டித் ரவிசங்கர், அவரது மகள் அனுஷ்கா ஆகியோர் இதை இசைப்பதில் வல்லுனர்கள்.
