Description

Approaching Sirmione from the boat.

I got quite tired of the lake by this point, but I was told that we were near Sirmione so went to the other side of the boat to get shots of the landmarks here.

At the northern most tip of the land of Sirmione is the Grotto of Catullus, an old Roman ruin. (Italian - Grotte di Catullo).

The main historical landmark of Sirmione is the so-called Grotto of Catullus (Grotte di Catullo), the most striking example of a Roman private edifice discovered in northern Italy. The edifice had a rectangular plan and measured 167 x 105 m.
