Summary

[edit]
Description

Sir Giles Capel was part of the retinue of Henry VIII. He challenged all comers at a tournament held during the meeting of King Henry VIII of England and Francis I of France at the Field of the Cloth of Gold in 1520. This helmet was probably worn at that tournament.

Photographed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, New York.
