Summary
[edit]DescriptionSint-Dionysiuskerk (Asselt).jpg |
English: Dionysius- or Rozenkerkje. The Roman Catholic Church of St. Dionysius of Paris was built in the 11th century on a spit of land on the river, which had previously been a fortress. This church was partly built with stones from Roman buildings. Of the original Romanesque church still remain the nave and the chancel. The original west tower collapsed in the 16th century century and was then replaced by a new brick tower, which now was built on the east side. In 1916-1918 the church was restored and increased by PJH Cuypers. In the church is a baptismal font in the Romanesque style.
