Description

The vertebrae of land-dwelling mammals are fused together at the level of the hips. These are the sacral vertebrae, or sacrum. The sacrum is also joined firmly to the pelvis to anchor the hind legs. this is the sacrum of Sinonyx, consisting of three fused vertebrae.
