Abstract:
Image of rare folded Sinhalese palm-leaf manuscript astrological calendar (ca. 1800) from NLM's MS S1 section. There is graceful and expressive handwriting and some of the contents are in verse. Each panel is small and delicate. Manuscripts like this served as reference works for ritualistic practices of the Sinhala healers.
