Title
Single view of a Medieval cast buckle pin.
Description
English: The object is a fragment of a buckle pin. The pin has been made from cast copper alloy and measures 17.9mm long, 3.7mm wide, and 10.2mm thick.

The portion of the pin is the termnal which curls around the strap bar. The upper surface of the pin, which is rectangular in section, is decorated with a block of high-relief ribbing. The view from the side of the pin shows the penannular loop.

The surface of the pin has a well developed brown coloured patina. some file marks are visible on the side surface. The break of the pin is not too recent, but does not have such a well developed patina.

This pin is probably from a buckle, it is too thick to be from a brooch. These cast pins can be found on annular buckles of the 13th to 15th centuries.
