Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Diagrammatic sketch of the Simpson double acting two stroke-engine.
This early example of an opposed piston engine using a single crankshaft connected to the pistons via levers appeared in The Motor Cycle magazine in August 1914. The article is not clear if Simpson is the name of the company working on it or the type of engine. It was the subject of experimental work at the Eagle Works, Cable Street, Blackburn, UK.
