Summary
[edit]DescriptionSimple Coriolis Effect derivation for a rotating disc.png |
English: The derivation of Coriolis Effect for a body that moves along a radius of a rotating disc (which rotates at angular velocity omega). The Coriolos acceleration (as seen from the inertial reference frame, equal to minus the acceleration in the rotating frame) is a sum of two effects: the first one is the growth of circumferential velocity of the body while increasing the radius (one must accelerate the body); the second is related to the changes in the direction of the radial velocity vector. The second effect is qualitatively similar to the effect of centripetal acceleration, derived for the circumferential velocity. |
