English: Simon Roy Christopher Johnson born 1968 Grimsby England.
Son of Arthur and Paula Johnson, one of five Siblings brother to Mark, Tracey, Christian, and Lisa. Simon attended Whitgift school Grimsby till he was 16 and left to study at the Eleanor school of Art on a two year foundation course. It was there that he started visiting local folk clubs where he then became a regular floor singer at "The Royal Oak" and the "Darley's Hotel" the official home then of The Grimsby folk song club. Simon had the pleasure to meet and talk about songwriting and guitar playing with many of the established folk singer songwriters of the day, he recalls how Martin Carthy had advised him that the good ballad had to be a strong one. In the early years Simon met Tom Paxton, Duck Baker, Vin Garbut, Rosie Hardman, Richard Thompson, Swarbrick and Nicol of Fairport and many other very talented emerging artists.
