Simmers, TorontoâFloral Novelties and Specialties for 1902 43 GiaLiit Petuniocs 875 RUFFLED GIANTSâThe flowers are of extraordinary size and sub- stance, â with very deep throat, and distinguished from the large flowering jfriuged section hy the deeper fringing and fluting, giving the appearance as 'If artificially rnfirted. The colors are not surpassed by any other strnin, ranging froih the deepest plum purple to the purest white, with all the inter- mediate shades, which, combined with the ruflaing, make the flowers truly superb. Pkt 25c. I 876 FRINGED RUFFLED GIANT PETUiilASâThis new strain origi- nated with the famous specialist in California, who, some years ago, sent out ithe California Giant and Rutfled Giant strains. It differs from the latter in having, in addition to the ruffling, a very fine fringed edging, making a very handsome flower. In size and coloring this new strain is equal to the finest now in commerce, and must be regarded as a decided advance in this im- rtant flower. (See cut.) Pkt 25c. 877 GIANTS OF CALIFORNIA, MIXEDâACalifornian strain of incom- parable beauty, size and luxuriance. Most of the flowers are exquisitely ifringed on the edges, and are of enormous dimensions (4 to 5 inches across), but their great merits lie in the wonderful varieties of colors, markings, veinings, blotchings and stripings. Pkt 15c, 2 pkts 25c. 878 Sing^le Scarlet-Fringed Petunia, " Miranda"âIt belongs to the large-flowering fringed section and in color is a brilliant rosy-carmine, juerging into scarlet in the throat.
