Title
Silver gilt pot medieval dress pin
Description
English: An early Post Medieval cast, silver gilt, complete ball-headed pin dating 1500-1600. The spherical head of this is at an angle due to damage to the shaft . The head is decorated with six filigree rings; three above a circumferential ridge around the midline and three below. There are protruding pellets between some of the rings but extensive wear makes the design difficult to interpret. The gilding remains only on the pin head.

Similar examples with a variety of decorated heads are published in Treasure Annual Reports. For example, see Treasure Annual Report 2004, nos. 285-295.
