Description |
English: A silver denarius, possibly a copy, of Septimius Severus dating to the period AD 194 to 196 (Reece period 10). SECVRITAS PVBLICA reverse type depicting Securitas seated left. Mint of Rome. cf. RIC IV, p. 98, no. 56 and p. 102, no. 93.
The appearance of this coin and its apparent copper-alloy content may suggest that it is a contemporary copy. |
