Title
English: Silent film actress Violet De Barros in Orphans of the Storm.
Description
English: Silent film actress Violet De Barros in Orphans of the Storm (1921). From the back: "'Paris Was Just as Gay in the Olden Days' Our present day conception of 'gay Paree' might well be Appropos of the time when the French Revolution became imminent and France's women were fashion plates for all the world. Miss Violet De Barros, who plays a prominent role in D.W. Griffith's film version of the Two Orphans now playing in New York as 'Orphans of the Storm,' depicts all the glory and grandeur of that period. The extremely wide skirt, the tall heard-dress made it rather difficult for Milady to enter her carriage, as clearly shown here."
