English: Signs on a wall outside Avington church The date at the top of this old wall is 1593. The plaque below marks the route of the Pilgrimage from Winchester to Canterbury in A.D.2000. The milestone refers to the Domesday Book when, in A.D.1085, the population was 65. Another face records a similar population for A.D.2000. |
