| Description |
English: Signpost near Ruddlemoor Farm This sign on the unclassified road between Hindon and Newtown, pointing down the no through road to Ruddlemoor Farm 300m away, is now out of date. Roads Used as Public Paths (RUPPs) were re-designated en-masse on 2 May 2006, by the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, as Restricted Byways with a right of way for all types of traffic except mechanically propelled vehicles. At the time there were 6000km of RUPPS though this is small compared with say the 32,400km of bridleways. The additional mode of transport allowed on a restricted byway that is not permitted on a bridleway is a horse and cart. |
