English: Sign to St Elidyr's Church (Amroth - not Llanteg) - Confusing! A dilemma for people trying to find Crunwere Church - St Elidyr, in Llanteg.
If you were in Crunwere Parish and saw a sign pointing to 'St Elidyr Church' - you'd assume it was pointing to 'St Elidyr, Crunwere' - wrong!! This sign is in Crunwere parish but pointing to St Elidyr Amroth, and not St Elidyr Crunwere. The sign to our own church just states 'Crunwere Church' - how much simpler it would have been if the new sign had just said 'Amroth Church'. It doesn't matter to locals who know which is which - but then the signs are meant for those who don't know where they're going - and now they'll know even less! Official sign to Crunwere church, Llanteg is 1296113 |
