oes to showthat we are catching on. Since writing last the base-ball season has come and gone. Some of our victories were over such institutions as Columbia,George Washington, Trinity, Georgia, V. P. I., and A. and M. ofNorth Carolina (two games). We will not mention the defeats,as we do not wish to use the valuable space of The Journal, andlike to look only on the bright side of things. College politicsalso began with the base-ball season, and a presidental campaignpales into insignificance when compared to the Washington andLee brand of politics, where a man is besieged from morning tonight in order that his vote may be pledged to some candidatefor final ball president or other college honors. We were pleased to meet Brother Hemphill, of Eta Beta, who was here with the A. and M. of North Carolina base-ballteam. He left a very pleasant impression of himself withEpsilon Chapter, and congratulations are due to Eta Beta if thereare any more at home like him. (Pardon the classic allusion.)
Text Appearing After Image:
CHAPTER LETTE RS. 169 We extend congratulations to our new brothers of Zeta, atRandolph-Macon College, Lambda Alpha, at Georgia Tech., Eta,at University of Virginia, and Mu Alpha, at Delaware College.Wishing all the brothers a happy vacation, we are, Fraternally,A. H. Payne, Epsilon. Chapter Historian. Zeta. Randolph-Macon College.Meets every Saturday at 9:45 P. M. in Fraternity Room. The session is rapidly drawing to a close. Only a few weeksmore and we shall begin our final examinations. As we lookback upon our work, we see that we have met with success, and, while we have not done all that we might have done, we hope toprofit by our past experiences. Since our last letter was written to The Journal we havebeen steadily working, and have kept our eyes open, trying tomake the best possible use of our opportunities. We are favoredbecause of our proximity with Alpha, since we are enabled toknow more of fraternal life, and, with their able suggestions, toaccomplish more real work. Zeta w
