ize the importance of putting out a good period-ical. By this means alone are we able to keep in touch witheach other, and so long as each chapter contributes her share, aswas done in our last issue, in so far as letters were concerned, thesuccess of The Journal is being placed on a firm basis. Yet, inspite of the spirit shown by each chapter in sending a letter, ourJournal is too small, and lacks reading material which wouldnot only make it more enjoyable to us, but would bring Sigma PhiEpsilon to the attention of those outside of us, and prove beneficialto us in more than one way. Many Sigma Phi Epsilon brothersnot only have the ability, but would be glad to contribute articles, not necessarily dealing with fraternity life, if they once realizedwhat a Journal of this character would mean to us. Its import-ance cannot be over-estimated, and we feel that this cry fromAlpha for more Journal material will be answered by the receiptof many good articles from brothers in every institution.

Robert R. Oliver, who met anuntimely death in Chicago. Brother Oliver was an alumnus ofAlpha, and we mourn his loss as a brother and as a man. He methis death by being struck by a locomotive while crossing thetracks in front of an in-coming train. His remains were broughtto his native home, in Hanover county, near Richmond. Severalmembers of Alpha witnessed the last sad rites over the remainsof our beloved brother. Alphas contingent had the pleasure of visiting the DeltaChapter, in Williamsburg, on a recent date. Such a hearty wel-come as they extended us made us happy and proud of our Deltabrothers. Brother James, of Delta, is now in Richmond, pursuinga course of study in medicine. One of the warmest and dearest friends of Alpha, MissBes
