English: Marble dashboard in machinery hall of a power plant supplying Gdańsk University of Technology with electricity, steam, hot water and central heating since 1904. The water tower located in the power plant building provided water at the right pressure for the entire campus. Underground ventilated and electrically lit corridors connected individual buildings, enabling proper maintenance of various installations. The Gdańsk University of Technology has been autonomous from the very beginning of its operation, creating engineering students' opportunities to practice their vocational training in conditions as close as possible to real industry situations.
Polski: Marmurowa tablica rozdzielcza w hali maszyn elektrowni zasilającej Politechnikę Gdańską w elektryczność, parę, ciepłą wodę użytkową oraz centralne ogrzewanie od 1904 roku. Zlokalizowana w budynku elektrowni wieża ciśnień dostarczała wodę o odpowiednim ciśnieniu dla całego kampusu. Podziemne wentylowane i oświetlone światłem elektrycznym korytarze łączyły poszczególne gmachy, umożliwiając właściwą konserwację rozmaitych instalacji. Politechnika Gdańska była od samego początku swojego funkcjonowania autonomiczna, stwarzając studentom kierunków inżynierskich możliwości praktycznej nauki zawodu w warunkach maksymalnie zbliżonych do realnych sytuacji występujących w przemyśle.
