English: Sideboard, conventional Adam design, semi-circular, curved front with carved entablature in centre, four delicately carved and tapered legs. A very fine Adam mahogany sideboard table of semi-circular shape the finely figured frieze with and entablature in the centre crisply carved with festoons of drapery and spray of oak leaves and acorns, the square tapering legs carved with pendants of oak leaves and at the tops with vertical oak leaves and bay leaves. |

Notes | The pier table was designed to stand against a wall between windows usually with a looking glass above, forming a decorative unit. This semi-circular version in neo-classical style has a finely figured frieze with and entablature. In the centre are crisply carved with festoons of drapery and spray of oak leaves and acorns. These motifs are continued in the square tapering legs carved with pendants of oak leaves tops with vertical oak leaves and bay leaves. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
