Description
English:

A deer in a prairie staring back at the camera.

Siŋte Ska (seen-TAY skaw) is Dakota for 'white-tailed deer.' (Thank You to Dakota Language Educator Wambdi Wapaha for his translation.) Although they're elusive during the summer, visitors in the winter months often see large groups of them running through the park. They are a visual staple of the Monument.
